Today, we are proud to announce the launch of ValueStreet Equity Partners after over a year of planning and preparation. ValueStreet is a boutique private equity firm that will invest in quality small businesses that have the potential to grow indefinitely in the future. Our office is based in San Diego, CA, but we expect to invest throughout California and the surrounding states.
While ValueStreet is a new venture, its roots took shape many years ago when I founded my first small business as a senior in college. With no experience or capital (but a lot of passion), I was fortunate to be successful. But I knew throughout my experience as a business owner that managing the day-to-day operations of a business wasn’t my true calling. I was much more effective and interested in finding overlooked opportunities and putting the pieces in place to create something special, whether that meant ideas, processes, people, or plans. This is where I will invest my energies at ValueStreet – in opportunities where we believe the right people and ideas can make a significant difference in a company’s trajectory.
A big part of investing, particularly in small businesses, is interacting with business owners. If you are a founder considering working with us, you should know that being honest, fair, and transparent is one of our highest priorities. I know from experience that when considering the sale of a business, a partner you can trust is paramount. While no buyer or seller is perfect, our culture at ValueStreet will revolve around integrity, honesty, and transparency. These are the values that are important to me personally, and I’ll work to build a team and lead the firm’s day-to-day operations in a way that is consistent with these ideas.
