James P Moran

Jim is ValueStreet’s founder and Managing Partner. He manages the firm’s day-to-day operations, marketing efforts, and banking relationships. He also chairs the firm’s investment committee.

Jim spent over a decade in marketing and technical roles at various startups and small businesses. A serial entrepreneur by nature, he founded his first business as a college student, and went on to found several businesses over the next decade that produced combined revenues over $100 million dollars. Jim has also consulted with small businesses and trained search marketers who have gone on to become leaders in their fields.

Jim has been an active participant in financial markets since 2011, when he began managing his own portfolio of investments. When he’s not in the office, he enjoys playing golf at Balboa Park Golf Course near downtown San Diego. He also enjoys eating out at fast, casual restaurants (local diners are his favorite). Jim holds a B.A from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. He lives in San Diego with his wife and son.
